I feel like the show was more creepy than intended and that they never fully explored the implications of the creepy stuff.

I'm sure Joss Whedon would have totally addressed all the unfortunate implications of the premise if the show had gotten more time to air. He just didn't have enough time to work out the implications of the world before the stupid network canceled it. And Summer Glau was good, you have to admit.

The way Topher would lovingly just stare at Bennett will forever be my favourite thing. Summer was such an awesome add on to the show for a number of different reasons

Really? I have never watched it, because the premise was so creepy and off putting there was just no fucking way.

I kinda feel like the whole 'creepy and gross' thing was pretty intention and would have never been discussed at all. But - like i said - I never watched it, so maybe something in the episodes led you to that conclusion.

It was discussed. The episode "The Man on the Street" shimmed the surface of the idea of The Dollhouse and how scary it is but still not being entirely evil. Dollhouse never put on pretensions of making its characters good or bad.

It was really an excellent show. The premise was creepy but intentionally so, they definitely got into the problematic implications of the whole scenario, and I loved it.
