Can you maybe not with the lizard person thing it's legit got a lot of ties to anti-Semitism and it's really just a coded way to speak about Jewish people without calling them Jewish. (Like seriously, look into it.)

Really? Can you provide some reading material? I'm only familiar with the "alien" definition of it and I really don't want to google "Lizard People Jews". I googled "origin of lizard people term" but just got more of the reptilian alien stuff.

Pretty sure it more or less originates with David Icke

*googles David Icke*
Ohh, I see. Huh, I've learned something today. Thanks.

Like... nah. This isn't tumblr, the "can you maybe not because of Reasons" thing doesn't work here, and even David Icke's wacky theory includes plenty of people who aren't Jewish, including the Queen of England. I'd be with you if it was used in an anti-Semitic way in the secret, but that's not the case. There's no need to go borrowing trouble or making mountains out of molehills.

Icke's theories are definitely anti-Semitic

whether or not you think that's a reason to avoid using the trope altogether is a separate matter

I always wonder if the people who try to derail conversations this way are consistent about it, at least, or if they just do it when they think they need some extra attention. You don't usually see them popping up to berate random strangers over playing "Here Comes the Bride" or driving a Taurus, after all.

Unless the person using the term is using it in an anti-Semitic way, maybe just let it go.

Can you maybe not make everything about the Jews? Thanks, a reptilian American.

Also, she looks very much like her (Irish-American) mother.
