This has to be a troll secret.

If it's not then you're an idiot. John Rhys Davies had reactions to his glue and make up and spent most of the filming (several YEARS) uncomfortable and hiding away and not interacting off set much with the others who were all having the time of their lives. Add to that his stunt double was actually the one who was in most of the scenes with the others anyway because JRD is like six foot and Gimli is a Dwarf. Naturally, the others bonded with the guy who was JRD's stunt double because they spent way more time with him.

Ultimately, it was a rotten experience that must have been horribly lonely for him. Can't really blame him for not wanting a tattoo of that.

What he said was clearly a joke and one that probably hides a lot of painful memories.
