Probably not the best idea. I have an unusual first name, and copped so much flak for it while growing up that I HATE it. Everyone says it's a beautiful name, but it just reminds me of all the shitty nicknames other kids gave me. I would kill to have a normal name.

Don't let your son suffer like all us other weird named people!

I have a really weird name that people always mispronounce. They always call me a thousand other different more common names that sound like my name, and it really gets on my nerves. In high school, I went by "Kat," and by the end of four years, I couldn't STAND having a "normal" name. :/

Not that I'm saying to the OP of the secret that she should name her boy Sakura, I find that ridiculous. I was mainly just suggesting, maybe you should go by a normal nickname for a while. If it doesn't help you appreciate your weird name, then at least it's something else to go by. XD

I wish I could - unfortunatley, my name is four letters and one syllable - can't knock it down without being a slang term for a hooker! ::G::

XDD It doesn't have anything to do with your real name, though - "Kat" only shared the first letter with my real name. Well, okay, it has a T, too, but my point is, you can't get "Kat" out of my first name at all - just go by a short name you like. I actually went by "Aimee" one year at this summer camp...just for shits and giggles. It was fun! XD

Okay, I'm starting to sound schitzophrantic or something now, I'm sure, but I'm harmless, I promise. XD
