So I'm in an airbnb for the first time, which I mainly picked because I needed something quick and cheep at the last minute and... ... This place is AWESOME. It's like staying in a the villa of the funky rich great aunt I never had. There's antique furniture and paintings and rugs and cane chairs and I'm sitting here thinking "damn, it's too bad I'm here pretty much just to sleep because this'd be a great place to hangout...

What pleasant surprises have you all had lately?

Got new room mate after the old ones finished their time here. Was expecting the worst.

Turns out they're actually way better than the first pair of roommates.

Radical.

a bar I used to love went out of business and was replaced by an even cooler cafe/bar/bookstore/music store/library. I'm used to places I love going out of business and being replaced by things I have zero use for (baby stores, Starbucks, etc.)
