Back in my old anime club, we wanted to come up with debate ideas, and everyone refused to allow the "Chibi-Usa: Good or Bad?" debate, because they knew I'd verbally clobber them. ^_^; I'll never get the hate for her, considering how hypocritical it was (and still is). As I said in the secret, I did not approve of what they did. However, I've always had a fetish with being dominant by some one mean and evil, and I had another fetish with cat people. For some reason, seeing the two combined was just so damn sexy for me and it became a fetish -_-

As a guy who has much more than a hundred different unpopular anime on his watched list, I think I have to tell you that you are a fucking snob.

I know some people who are genuinely enjoying watching the "mainstream" series, and I know a whole lot of others who jump from one random crap to another without any endeavour to understand them. It is my firm opinion that it's better to seek the meaning of life in Naruto than to be full of your elitism.

123. Have you considered that a lot of us check out series because we hear a lot about them, and end up loving them? And there's really only so many series some of us can focus on at a time. I probably don't fall into your black books, unless you think Keroro Gunso and Gakuen Alice are mainstream, but it's still irritating. For a while there my loves were Tsubasa, Reborn, and Ouran, because I really love/d those series and I didn't really have the time or the energy to invest in tons of other stuff. If your problem was with people who refuse to watch anything that isn't popular or mainstream, fine, but you're not even considering the fact that some people really like the popular/mainstream series just because they really like them.

155. What's funny is that, a long LONG time ago, I even found a yaoi fic that wasn't freaking out about it. They just posited that Sheik had actually been a real person that Link knew, before something happened- I am unclear as to what, but it actually made a certain amount of sense in the story, I think he died or something- and Zelda took over as him to continue helping Link. IDK IT WAS WEIRD but it strangely worked. And it's just further proof that fangirls don't need to freak out so much, just let it be and use their imaginations a little. ;)

155: I was really surprised. I'd looked at the pic in the booklet...

Anyway, I was disappointed because I'd noticed Link's interest in Sheik (even though it isn't exactly romantic). A possible interest in a male character for such a well-known character as Link was such a wonderful thing, I thought.

Shhhhh! You! You stop making sense right this instant! Just because I happened to be reading InuYasha before it was even considered truly popular (and not an anime yet) in Japan, doesn't mean that I'm not a mindless drone!

I mean, surely I knew that the series was going to suddenly ignite like wildfire, get a batshit insane fandom, and basically be everywhere you turned. Because I'm psychic like that.

Honestly, most people like what they like simply because, to them, it's good. I like a whole bunch of popular series (And got my friends into some of them), and quite a few lesser known, as well. Popularity has never been a high priority on my list, and I'm sure most fans are like that, too.

I used to be like you, but then I grew up.

The Belgariad and the Mallorean were the series Mom read to me when I was a child. While not perfect (some of the "people from this race act like this" stuff makes me wince, and the series became a bit repetitive towards the end), it's largely what engendered in me a love for reading, and has had the strongest impact on my writing style.

Silk and Polgara fucking RULE the universe.
