You're a sheep, or should I say baaa baaa baaa and I would like some wool now to knit an adorable hat in the shape of Madarao who is a gay ghost wolf, which you would have known if you weren't so superficial, GAWD!

While I do have series recommended by friends, I found a lot of my series through independent research, such as browsing the library stacks, surfing TV Tropes, and watching the OPs of new anime on Youtube when there's a new season and I'm bored. I'm a lone explorer through the vast reaches of space known as Stuff to Watch When Bored.

Finding good, groundbreaking, unpopular and unloved anime is serious business; you are obviously not tough enough to Handle It.

Haha, I have to admit, a lot of stuff I didn't get into because it was popular OR recommended. I sometimes get into stuff through AMVs, but mostly it's graphics- if I see icons I love, I gravitate toward that series like a mofo. It's how I got into both Mononoke and, somehow, Reborn (which totally falls into that mainstream-popular-anime category, but I was pushed over the edge into actually checking out because of Belphegor icons; he hits my "hey-it's-a-psycho-who-smiles-all-the-time" and "cannot-see-one-or-both-eyes" buttons. |D), or from finding a particular site (like One Manga) and then randomly clicking until something makes me go "ooooh."

I admit it. I am utterly shallow and just in it for the recs and the pretty and the things that yank on my chacter-personality-and-design kinks. DOES THIS MEAN WE CANNOT BE FRIENDS OR SECRET LOOOOVEEERS ANYMORE?

He's from Kekkaishi. I've only read the manga, and haven't seen the anime yet. I really recommend it. It's an action-adventure manga about a 14 year old boy, Yoshimori, who is the heir to his clan of demon-slayers, known as Kekkaishi. His childhood friend, Tokine, a girl who he crushes on and is two years older than him, is the heir to to a rival demon-slaying clan. Their families have been living next door to each other for centuries, protecting a site which demons swarm to because it grants them power the longer they stay there.

It's a series with great, well-developed characters and wonderful art (they have a unique method of fighting, where they use magical boxes to essentially trap demons before crushing them. What's interesting is how creative and flexible this method becomes as the series goes on). And there's a gay ghost dog..

Silly rabbit. Don't you know that you must get into works for the love of the craft, and not because it might present you opportunities to share things with friends, or make new ones?
