When we get you not actually angry at each other arguments, we yell (or type) FOUFN or family off until further notice. Also, do it with friends.

I wanted to write but ended up playing platforming games all day.

I am bad at platforming games.

I didn't even know Carlton had fans that weren't somehow related to me.

I confused my therapist earlier this week by saying, "There's a lid for every pot." (Might be a regional thing as much as a family thing too since my therapist & I grew up in different places.)

He can always fix it by shaving off the rest after the movie

I am so happy right now. I actually live in Canada, and only catch footy once in a blue moon, but for some reason they played mostly Carlton games a few years back, and I've loved them ever since!!
And heyy~ all time member record this year~

Different people might find different things depressing. They might not be going by your specific, high personal definition. Why is this confusing? Isn't this... life?

(Anonymous) 2019-03-22 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
Ugh. I'm not saying that nobody could ever look good in that haircut but it'd be a challenge.

(Anonymous) 2019-03-22 01:55 am (UTC)(link)
How soon people forget Thor and Loki's respective bad wigs...

(Anonymous) 2019-03-22 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
You know, I wonder if that's the reasoning behind it.

(Anonymous) 2019-03-22 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
Right? I knew we'd never be rid of Stark that easily. I'm not convinced we'll ever be rid of him, period. I only hope that the reconciliation isn't crappy, but I won't hold my breath.

this is an excellent point. I recently re-read and it was really painfully clear that aside from Gandalf, no one uses magic. Ever. Aragorn at best has a couple of "I sense something" moments and maybe has a strong will to wrestle the palatir from Sauron but he's not really magical. Galadriel at best made a pool of water into a mirror but nothing else magical is ever shown. The close of the Third Age is just the final period on a paragraph of waning that began thousands of years earlier, magic and elves were already more or less gone from Middle-Earth by that time. the ringbearers were just lingering because Sauron.

dunno how the movies made it out to be because I noped out of that shit halfway through Fellowship.

(Anonymous) 2019-03-22 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it's totally going to be crappy. :(

I so feel you on this, nonny. I think that's how they get people, to be honest... they KNOW people see novelty plants like this and think "OMG, I would love to grow my own tea/coffee/meyer lemons/tiny bananas!" and impulse buy one with a lot of wishful thinking and hope. But most of those plants only thrive under very specific conditions that are hard to achieve in the average home. :(

I didn't know it got broadcast that far away! I watch the English Premier League very late at night in Australia so I get you. If you ever manage to catch the AFLW (AFL but womens teams) that is worth a watch too because they go pretty hard and Carlton has a team in the league.

They haven't won a premiership since.... yikes. I was four or so, so 95 or 96. My family still love them but they do get some shit wearing Carlton gear. Haha. They got the wooden spoon last year from memory (last place overall in the league). I guess that makes them the loveable underdogs.

My childhood crush on Rufio says otherwise, and he was rocking the skunk stripes. What is taste.

that haircut is hilarious

AYRT—heh, I’m in coastal southern California, I have a couple of coffee plants doing just fine, although if I bothered harvesting berries I could maybe drink one cup of coffee a year. I’ve grown bananas, although not recently, and I’ve got a navel orange, a bog standard lemon, and an Australian finger lime tree (which is growing and flowering well but never seems to fruit; I think it needs more sun/heat) and a (for some reason, unhappy) tangerine. My “ooh, that looks awesome” failure list so far includes wasabi, tea, miracle fruit, and (they’re still hanging on and I hope they perk up now that Spring’s here) cocoa trees.

Same anon—on the other hand, stone fruit/tree nuts/peonies/lilacs/anything that needs winter dormancy to flower and/or set fruit either can’t be grown at all or have to be one of the tiny handful of low-chill cultivars. I keep trying with low chill cherries; my oldest tree finally fruited a few years ago and it was awesome, then the next year fruit flies got the fruit and shot hole borers killed the tree. Sigh. Why can’t I just magically make plants grow/thrive?

I know, I've been trying to follow the womens league, (still don't know what the deal is with Tayla's kicking photo people kept bashing) but even through the app I'm not even sure if I'll even be able to listen to the game;; I've been keeping up by highlights, and I'm excited about their chances for the PF!
Heh, well as fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, (love me some blue and white apparently) I'm no stranger to droughts between championships. I don't think they've won the cup since 67'. But I loved watching the commentary last season though. My broadcaster was fond on Essendon last year, and for a number of the games they kept going on about how they were the most disappointing team of the season, pause, aside from Carlton but we expected that of them. I was laughing and crying all at the same time.

+1, they were dumb and awful jokes, but he'd apologised for them and not repeated the behaviour. That's exactly what people *should* be doing!
