idk i thought it was kind of hilarious how canon actually made sheith icky in the end by having shiro be 1) an adult when keith was like 13 and 2) was there in his life in an friend/older brother[not literally before someone jumps on me for this, i mean in a narrative aspect]/mentor capacity from then on.

people getting stupid about it early on in the show was absolutely a thinly veiled ship-war, no question about that. but the shippers acting like it was still perfectly okay after those s7 flashbacks? eh no. i'm sorry they got targeted so much in the early days and thus became extremely defense of their ship, but the show absolutely ended up making it kind of squicky by itself.

Bitch please, they zeroed in on the age gap, claiming absurd things like it being a pedophilic ship because an 18 year old is being shipped with a 25 year old, that no 20 year old should be with a teen. These antis then conveniently overlooked Keith jumping from 18 to 20 and Lance being 17, therefore making their own ship guilty of the shit they proclaimed.
