Personally what makes the difference for me is the characters. Yeah, I might find a pairing that has the same dynamic that I like, but how I feel about the characters makes a huge difference.

Better how? In terms of relationship dynamics, character aesthetics, stories, genre, et cetera? It might be fun to ask your friend exactly what she likes about her ships and then compare and contrast those specific qualities to your own. They might prove more different than first thought. Sometimes bonding over differences in ships can prove just as entertaining as similarities, I have found.

Haha isn't that the eternal problem for the tinhat shippers? I mean I'm sure she feels the same about her ships.

But I get it. My bf and I haven't had the same ship for awhile and we keep trying to get the other onto our current obsession but something just isn't syncing up. It's sad. But I'm sure eventually we'll get into something at the same time again.
