I'd be more upset if what we already got wasn't more representation than most mainstream non-LGBT movies get.

I think what adds to the issue is that J.K. Rowling seems to want to portray herself as being very open-minded and an ally, but then when she has the chance to push a little harder (being the writer and producer on the film) she...doesn't do anything on screen, but continues to talk about it in interviews.

Again, my hope is that the outrage and upset will actually cause some influence in the right direction. At this point in my life I am sick of writers doing the bare minimum for representation and calling it a day. For the ones who are truly unable to do so because of 'higher ups' censoring them, it's the discontent of the fans that will hopefully convince those higher ups to let them do more.
