How is JKR talking about her characters or answering fan questions asking for ass pats?

retconning nagini to be a subservient eastern Asian woman, her “There’s at least one Jewish student at Hogwarts” answer, “hermione COULD be black even though I never wrote her that way,”, “dumbledore is gay,” all information she feels the need to reveal outside of the universe and wants diversity points without actually doing the work. It’s the laziest form of my progressiveness is pasted on yay!! It’s incredibly transparent.

She was asked if there were Jewish students, she said there were. She didn't ask for cookies about it. Plus, the two female leads in the Fantastic Beasts series are Jewish women, so she's clearly making an effort to include more representation.

She was just defending the Cursed Child casting, she was basically saying Hermione being black didn't change her character. She wasn't saying "I wrote her as black all this time!"

She was asked if Dumbledore had been in love, she gave an answer. Plus, the subtext was already there in the book.

She's talked about being excited about the Nagini reveal, but I don't think she's ever acted like it was a big move for progressiveness. I also don't know when Nagini has ever been subservient.

"I knew all along that Nagini was in fact an Indonesian woman who's cursed to become a snake! Aren't you excited to see this Asian woman who's eventually going to befriend Voldemort and get milked on his orders make an appearance in this movie where her only role is to be a sad circus act and Credence's friend who is sad that he's joining Grindlewald? I know I am!"

"Queenie is Jewish and she was a great character in the 1st movie, so wait guess what! She's going to become such an idiot in love that she joins Grindlewald even though she's a mindreader by birth and her sister was almost executed by him back in New York!"
