I both agree and disagree. I really didn't think the episode was suggesting a romantic relationship between them was coming (quite the opposite, to be honest) but I definitely think that a romantic relationship between them would make more sense than any other pairing with either of them. I don't think that pairing, or any other pairing in the series, will happen in canon. It would take away half the fun of the series. But as I said, I do think Gwendal/Anissina makes more sense and has more going for it than any other ship with the two. That said, I personally don't care one way or another whether it happens in canon. If it does, that's chill, if it's not, oh well. I don't think their on-screen relationship would change much either way, but oh well.
