Okay but maybe I want a Magical Girl show featuring a 25-year-old and all the tropes that go WITH being a Magical Girl and not Wonder Woman.

I never knew how badly I wanted this until I saw it typed out.

A friend and I toss this around every so often, talking about how absolutely shitty it would be to have to juggle a full-time job, a marriage, raising kids, wrangling pets, and everything... while also being a magical girl.

Like, the magical girl bit would be AMAZING.

But it would make the rest of life so, so hard.

I don't have kids or a marriage or a SO, and I still cringe at the logistics of dealing with my real life while also dealing with everything that being a magical girl entails.

We wound up deciding that one of the reasons people write teens as magical superheroes is that teens have a lot more free time in some aspects. Like, if they don't get enough sleep, they might fail a test. But they won't get fired from their job for poor performance and have to figure out how to not be homeless if they fuck up.

It'd be so hard being a magical girl and a working adult on their own.

I mean, my idea would be a 25-year-old who's kind of a slacker and such who's suddenly got a bunch of responsibility thrust on her and sorts out her life through sheer force.

Sounds kinda like Dead Like Me
