Making and STAYING friends with people after your fandoms no longer overlap is a lot of work. After 20 years in fandom I've managed to keep in touch with only three people, and even then, it took a long time until we connected on other levels.

I agree, it's not easy. And it's great when you all can just fall back into something, even if it's only for a couple of months.
