The problem with that argument is that it implies adopted siblings aren't *really* siblings, which, you know. Not only is that wrong but by that logic there are no reason to find relationships between people who aren't biologically related creepy, nevermind power imbalance. Conflict of roles is a thing.

Anyhow you can write what you want, I would not ignore the conflicted feelings about being with someone who belongs to your family tho.

While I understand your concerns, there is no actual power imbalance for the two Umbrella Academy characters in question. One could flatten you to a wall, the other could mind control you. They're also the exact same age.
