Omg omg. Dark Star . It's Ridley Scott’s college project or something and I bloody love it. Imo it's bad in a good way.

Mind you I have an extremely high tolerance for low budget films.

Dark Star was John Carpenter and Dan O'Bannon, not Ridley Scott. I can see where you'd make the mistake, though - O'Bannon went on to write Alien, which of course Scott directed, so I assume that's where the confusion came in.

Fun movie! But definitely, definitely suuuuuper low budget.

My Dad loves that movie and references it all the time. The one time I tried to watch it, I found it kind of dull. It started as a student film that got expanded to feature length, and I think it's most likely my Dad had only seen the student version and talked it up to me based on that, but not all of the filler was as funny as the original materials (not that I knew exactly what was filler and what was original).
