So you are going to use the 'the abuse victim should have just left their abuser. It is his fault he didn't leave'. Cool, cool.

Again, the point is he could have left the moon anytime he wanted. He made a choice to stay however brainwashed he was into thinking he was doing important moon shit. No one forcibly locked him behind a door and refused to let him go.

Klaus and Vanya were forcibly locked in and not allowed leave until Reginald said so.

THEY HAD NO CHOICE.

My sister was abused by her ex-boyfriend. He broke her jaw. She could have left at any time but didn't because she "loved him" and felt a duty to him because they had a daughter together. She wasn't locked up with no way to escape. She was stuck in an abusive relationship where her love was used against her. She did not leave until he finally went to jail.

Luther was raised in an isolated group with his siblings. Not only that, his father had changed him (after nearly dying) in a way that caused clear body dysmorphia and shame. Instead of getting help for this, Luther was sent into even more isolation while struggling to deal with this horrific new body.

His father had isolated him socially from anyone that could help him. He was brainwashed into believing his father loved and knew exactly what was best for him. He felt a duty to do what his father wanted because he loved him.

So, I get that you have some kind of hate boner for Luther. But how dare you try to downplay the kind of psychological abuse he suffered because "someone had it worse!!" That is demeaning to actual people who have suffered such abuse.

How are these 2 situations comparable? Your sister was not sent to the moon AND her situation was a thousand times worse than Luther’s.

...this explains a lot. You don't really read beyond surface level stuff if you can't understand the comparison between the two situations.

This explains a lot. I see you are projecting all over the place and making flimsy comparisons that don’t hold under scrutiny. I think Luther’s actions were understandable even though I don’t like him but repeatedly bringing up the Geneva Convention and saying his life is the most tragic when he was coping better than his other siblings makes no sense.

(Anonymous) 2019-03-31 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
No one anywhere said he was the 'most tragic'. Actually, no one was comparing their tragedies except for you. Because it is stupid to compare 'who has it worse' like it is a competition.

I'm not the one bringing the Geneva Convention into the discussion.

(Anonymous) 2019-03-31 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
You really don't see the difference between your sister and Luther's situation, do you?

Look, I'm not arguing Luther was emotionally capable of leaving the moon, only that if he ever found the wherewithal to do so he physically could if he wanted to.

Klaus and Vanya* couldn't escape their prisons no matter how they felt or what they did. That's being in a literal prison. That's being a literal prisoner.
