Anon below you, but yep. It was so weird to me, because in the first film he just sort of seemed his normal level of awkward around her, and maybe right at the end looking for a friend/someone to talk to, but I never really got romantic vibes. And then BOOM, in the second film, it was all so painfully "LOOK! LOOK! THEY'RE MEANT TO BE GUYS!!"
