I'm not sure I entirely disagree. Video games and video game violence have been a hot button issue for quite some time. It's not exactly the same thing, but comparable.

Tbh I would a thousand times rather my son spend half an hour playing a violent video game than watch an episode of Laat Man Standing or According to Jim.

And those critiques are widely mocked and dismissed by the culture at large

But there have been published studies about the lack of corrolation between playing violent video games and IRL violent behavior. As we can see from anons arguing above, there has been no such study about any connection between reading FSoG and practicing BDSM in a harmful way.
