See, Dumbo's eyes are what makes me accept Dumbo 2019 vs Lion King 2019. Dumbo still has that edge of cartoony, where TLK is just too photorealistic and hard to relate to. Don't tell me Nala 2019 is gonna have those bedroom eyes.

For the record, I haven't seen the new Jungle Book so I don't know how animalistic they were.

I like the photorealism. It means they're doing something new and different. If you are just doing an animated movie that is obviously animated, just a different style, what's the point? Making a photo realistic version is a reason to do a new version.

Not if it's a frame by frame remake, which loses all of the charm and purpose of 2D and waters down the intentional color choices of the animators.

The whole design terrifies me. Way way too uncanny valley with the photo-realistic skin textures and the cartoony-ass proportions. Pick one direction or the other, guys.
