It's obviously deeply unnuanced. But it is the case that prosecutors in the US are part of the penal system in the United States that is profoundly and thoroughly and gigantically fucked up and evil. And I think it's probably true on average that more of them are ambitious and careerist politicians than amongst defense attorneys. I don't think you need to demonize them to acknowledge that but it is a reality.

That's not really what I meant with my initial post (which was more a general statement about people and workplaces) though.
