Re: What really popular movies do you hate?

Bridesmaid. Went in expecting some comedy about a bunch of girls getting together for their friends' wedding and having wacky hijinks together, got a very depressing movie. Also I hated the toilet humor. HATE.

I felt exactly the same way about Bridesmaids. I did feel a little vindicated when I learned that apparently script writers Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo didn't want to include that scene, but the studio pushed for it. However, even without that scene, I still wouldn't have liked the movie.

That sucks. Honestly the whole scene just felt awful. But yeah, it was just not a fun movie to watch overall. I remember just feeling miserable after watching it.

I still haven't forgiven Bridesmaids for portraying the route between Milwaukee and Chicago as a 2-lane country road instead of the major interstate highway it is. It's also not pancake-flat there, but that's California for you: no rolling glacial moraine.
