What about British or European dramas?

Then you should tell the person/people recommending them to you that you are not interested in watching them. If you need a reason, simply say that you don't like reading subtitles. Voilà.

Asian dramas are very much you love them or you hate them, ime. I love them because the tropes appeal to me, but they're also a HUGE time investment because of the subtitles (can't do other things while paying half-attention, etc), which is why I haven't seen one in a while....

My sister doen't watch any asian dramas I recommend and I always assumed it's due to the hotness factor as she doesn't find asian actors hot. Or she watched one or two and din't like it. Either way it's not racist imo.
