Honestly agreed, and I like MCU-Bucky but so far nothing they've done with him makes me think the transition of him into the new CA(if Steve bites it) makes any sense. There's just no groundwork there for it.

Sam is the best candidate for it imo but whether they'd actually do it is another question.

I don’t know if I’m alone in this, but I don’t really like the idea of new characters taking on old mantles. I know it’s happened plenty in the comics, and I’ve only seen the movies, but I just can’t get behind it. It seems so weird. Then again, I might stop following the MCU after Endgame, anyway.

...I just had the wild thought that I wouldn’t say no to Coulson becoming Captain America. I’ma look for fic of that now.

Maybe a mourning period for the previous Cap might help... then next movie or two, someone can take up the mantle.

While I utterly adore MCU Bucky, I think Sam would be the best Cap, if the character is to go on. Bucky needs a damn break, and Sam kicks ass.
