So there's still a chance for GRRM to subvert this particular cliche, isnt there

Who cares how it ends? Jon Snow is a walking cliche, and even the most original ending won't change all the cliches in his story so far.

Yeah, GRRM finishing the books. That's a good joke.

As for the show the only way to subvert his character is if he turns into a Mad King like his grandpa. But I don't see that happening so he will remain a cliche from inception all the way up to the last season.

I'm assuming that whatever happens in the show is in some sense still GRRM's idea even if it's not coming from a published book
