Re: Has anyone ever met someone from the internet? How did it go?

Been doing so for about 20 years. I was still a teenager at the first meetup, someone local (but admittedly much older than me) from a scifi forum. Nothing sinister before anyone asks. Still friends, but have both moved considerable distances since so not close any more. After that met a few more people from the same forum and spoke to a couple over the phone, though I think I've lost contact with all the others.

Since 2001(ish?) I've been in the MLP toy community and have met more people than I could possibly count, since I go to a convention every year.
