A lot of questions are contextual, many results are paid advertisements, and it's difficult to figure out who to trust. For instance, I've seen artists get huffy like ayrt demonstrated about asking where they get their prints or what pens they use, when the answer is person dependent and the googlable results aren't particularly helpful and somewhat outdated.

The first thing I do when someone uses a term or references something I'm not familiar with is hit Google to look it up. It takes me all of five seconds to do so.

Same. I don't even really think about it, it's automatic because I'm curious and like to know things, but I don't like to bother people.

You sound like someone who brings up a topic and gets mad that someone else actually wants to discuss it.
