I mostly agree? But then someone messages the Rejected Princesses guy to ask if he's done *insert historical figure here* and all they had to do was google "Rejected Princesses" "[historical figure]" and tah dah! Yes! Right there on his website! Would you like me to click the link for you too?

Or people going, "Oh, I have heard people speaking of this 'AO3' as a fanfiction archive, pray tell where I can find it?" and it's just... do you not know how search terms work or something? Is this your first day on the internet? What's happening here?"

Yes, this are the most common scenarios I see taking place. I'm sure people don't mean to be a pain in the butt, but they're being a little lazy.
