I briefly went out with someone once who didn't know what radishes were. We went out for dinner and he actually sat there staring at them in his salad saying "what the fuck is a radish?"

I was in a grocery store looking for artichoke hearts and someone who worked there thought an artichoke was some kind of animal!

One of my co-workers was going through some old files and came across a 3.5 inch floppy disk. She asked what it was. I read the label and said, "It says (what the label said)" and she said "No, I mean what *is* this?" and I realized she didn't know what a floppy disk is. I've never used 8-inch floppy disks, reel-to-reel tape, or 8-track, and laser disks and zip disks pretty much passed me by, but I still know what they are. Or maybe I'm just ancient and she's just young.
