As a casual remark to a friend, that would be acceptable, IMO. When talking to a stranger on the internet and not necessarily in real time... that's a "I'm going to look it up myself" situation. If I want to converse with someone, I'm probably going to ask them more personal questions or things that cannot be easily answered via Googling, such as "What did you like about the Wonder Woman movie?"
