Re: Ichigo/rukia uuuhhhhh you never saw the musicals did you? Cause they went hard for that ship. Even wrote Orihime out after the first one. Multiple pining ballads. Definitely wasn’t written as platonic there even if it never became explicitly romantic, and IIRC kubo was strongly involved so he approved.

i've never seen the musicals, only read the manga and in that they were close friends and stayed close friends after everything without a lick of romance between them.

huh, i was always under the impression that kubo hated i/r or at least hated the shippers because from what i read he never had any intention of putting them together and orihime was always meant to be his love-interest?

i don't actually know i'm just going by translations of stuff from years back, and i don't have a horse in the race, i was just citing a m/f friendship couple that never became romantic in it's canon but was emotionally deep and close.
