I'm fairly sure this isn't the first time Netflix has ever produced an original-language European show.
There's a lot of them on Netflix, it's just that for some reason Netflix doesn't advertise or promote them much.
Not sure why.

One confusing thing about it is that there's a difference between shows that Netflix actually makes, and shows that Netflix has a production and distribution deal for but that are actually made by some other studio. & I think most of their Euro-language content falls into the second category.

That said, yeah, Netflix has a buttload of Euro content.

I don't know how it is in other countries, but I suspect that they don't push the original-language European shows on US Netflix is because sadly many of my fellow citizens are deathly allergic to any-language-but-English and subtitles.

I get quite a few European and International titles showing up in my recommended, but that's because as long as the premise of a movie or TV show looks interesting, I'll watch it. And I've found a lot of great series that way!

Netflix dubs a bunch of them! Generally really poorly, but still. It makes up a ton of their content at this point.

It's not the first, I hope I didn't imply that. It's the first Swedish.
