I feel you, OP!!!!

Also, the idea of Loki, king of tricksy shenanigans being dead and it not being a fakeout is silly to me.

I hope he won't be back. Sorry, OP. I just think that having him actually dead would do much more for the story than bringing him back would. Or maybe they could bring him back only for him to still have to sacrifice himself and end up dead forever.

hiddleson's marketing value is currently too high for his character to be killed off for good. the only way we're getting rid of loki is when hiddleson decides he's done or when the mcu franchise finally dies. the best way to predict what will happen is to ask the question: "what will make the most money?"

"hiddleson's marketing value is currently too high for his character to be killed off for good"

I swear I'm not being snarky here because I like Hiddleston but... is this actually true? I'm not sure I've really seen much evidence that the MCU values his presence all that much compared to the major players. I'd definitely say that of RDJ, Chris Evans (if he were willing to continue, which it sounds like he's not), Chris Hemsworth, and Chris Pratt, for example. But I don't get the impression that Hiddleston or Loki is indispensable.

No, it's not. Hiddleston has a loud fanbase within DW/Tumblr/AO3 fandom, but he doesn't really put asses in seats in a way that makes his character unkillable.

(Anonymous) 2019-04-09 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
That was my impression, yeah. A vocal fanbase, but not necessarily one that translates to the box office.

He is getting a show as loki on disney ➕ so he will be back and he said he was. Also set photo leaks had him back for endgame. They probably want to do one more thor it looks like so i think he will be back

I'm with you OP. If that's the end it was such a crappy ending and every time I say this someone comes along to argue it was perfect. Fine if you think that but you'll never convince me.

I'm also find it hard to care about everyone freaking out about their fave potentially dying in Endgame when a lot of other fans have been so awful to Loki fans for a year now. Yes some of the hope and theories are total crud but I still get people having hope and I wouldn't wish that death scene on other favourite characters even at my most bitter.
