There's little more than a month 'til ESC 2019 in Tel Aviv and I wasn't too fussed about it. Then I saw Iceland's contestant and now I'm slightly obsessed because it's not standard fare for the ESC. ( I was extatic when Lordi won back in 2006.)

Iceland has never won Eurovision ever. I hope they win this year.

I'm definitely going to watch the first semifinal. It'd be amazing if they won, but I'll settle for a top 5 if I have to.

I don't know what songs are in contention until they start airing it on BBC America.

I like the surprise. I hope Ruslana performs something again for .... musical halftime or whatever.

There are clips on Youtube that shows bits from every song that's going. Not sure if Ukraine's got any backup plan after Maruv had gotten withdrawn, though.

I watched San Remo, so I have a bias towards Italy. There's no chance of Mahmood winning, but I can dream.

Every year I say I won't watch it and every year I end up watching in outrage as I feel someone got robbed. Mostly I feel like Eurovision is my yearly geography test where I go ooooh yeah...you exist.
