It's not just trans women, it seems like it's the "most accepted" style of art anymore, and I kind of hate it. All the ultra-roundness and pastel doesn't read as "cute" to me, it reads as (and this might be my weird autistic brain reacting oddly to it) like... slimy? Everything looks like it's too soft and kind of "drippy", so I get genuinely unpleasant feelings from looking at it.

Writing it out, I'm pretty sure I'm the only person that feels like this, but I just wish there was more variety in styles in fandom art these days just so it was easier for me to avoid. It's why I tend to stick to jp/kr art sites and twitters and such, because there's much more in the way of... distinct lines, I guess? I'm not really sure how to put it.

Nah, I'm not a fan either. I like cute art styles but they need more structure to them for me to find it appealing. The pastels are too strong for me too and it'd be nice if the colors were more subdued and cohesive.
