What canon is this?

DA. Looks like Weiss Kruez. And yeah, having seen that canon, it is not hyperbole.

This art isn't Weiss Kreuz though. Which is weird because the content of the secret sounds like a dead ringer for it.

The art is Weiß Kreuz - just the much later sequel Weiß Side B where only Ran and Ken are left from the original group.

Red haired guy in the middle is Aya/Ran, Ken is the one with the blue hat and one arm around Ran and the other around the kid whose name I can't remember right now.

Always seemed to me like the mangaka of this series a was trying to move the Gluhen character designs a little more back towards the original looks-but ended up just sort of making it all more confusing because now they didn't match either design.

Other anon is right - altough I prefer this Ran to the Glühen one because what was that OTT braid? Ken always looks more or less the same anyway but that's because he has the most "anime everyman" design of them all.
The plot was not necessarily an improvement either but it made my shipper-self happy back in the day lol.
