I don't think this is unique to any group except maybe tumblr artists, but yes it's crap. for many of them, they see uniquely stylized art as a shortcut past a basic understanding of anatomy and proportion. rather than understanding that good stylized art has a foundation of art skills underneath it, they just copy it, then people copy their copies, etc. until it's a big round indistinguishable mess.

it's sad because you can tell several of these tumblr esque artists have potential, but they'll never get anywhere just cannibalizing the already bastardized art styles of others.
