The Media played by Gillian Anderson is gone. Not dead, but transformed to have the appearance of a young Korean woman and is called "New Media", described as "the goddess of global content and in this age, a cyberspace chameleon, who is also a master of manipulation". In this scene, she and the New Gods are trying to get Argus, the god of surveillance on their side and she's seducing Argus with the idea of merging. This takes the form of those wire-tentacle dildo things, one that snakes up her skirt while she makes moaning orgasm sounds.

It's cringey af.

was it the way it was filmed/cgi'd cringey or just the mere idea? because I know absolutely zero about this show but a god of media trying to seduce a god of surveillance via wire tentacles sounds completely plausible and tbh pretty hot too.

The concept wasn't necessarily terrible, but frankly, the way the scene played out was like a bad porno for straight dudes. I'm automatically suspicious of any hentai-like scene involving an Asian woman, and Argus is an older, pasty white guy with a dozen eyes who's half machine. So, not hot.

ahh yes in that case I can see how the execution absolutely does not match the concept. there's a lot of baggage in that imagery right there.

Ugh, I'm glad I decided to wait and see if I actually want to watch season 2 once I've heard more about it. Nothing I've heard sounds promising so far. I like the book, don't need this shit.
