Also, in in terms of "shipping" do they just want there to be a romantically inclined relationship where they find each other cute and maybe kiss a bit? Or are there hard, graphic, sex scenes. Or something else on this whole spectrum?

And the age of the fiction characters and where they are on that spectrum is going to be where I find certain fiction personally acceptable.

Personally, just because I can imagine 15/16 year olds exploring first physical love together doesn't make me want to actually BE with a 15/16 year old as a full adult now. It just means I have a memory of being that age and how I can imagine characters would interact. First love was fun/exciting/complicated/messy and it's okay to think about how it could have been different as different characters!

Yeah, there's so many TV shows and movies where a little kid might have a crush on another kid, or they hold hands or have a brief, closed-mouth kiss. Are Anna Chlumsky and Macauley Culkin pedo victims for being in My Girl now?
