Man, I feel this. I started my accounting career in 2008. Ha. Haha... hahahahahahahahahaha... I will never earn what my father did and he retired in '98. My mom talks about a house they purchased when they were my age, and I'm just thinking to myself, I'm a single person with a higher degree, more experience, and a better job than my father had at my age, and he could get a house, a car, and support a family of three on his income (without going into debt!) while I couldn't even begin to hope I could on mine.

Damn, and meanwhile anyone over 50 will just tell you to work hard and not buy silly things like that's all it takes to be comfortable.

I never wanted more than what I had growing up, and it's not entitlement to be upset that I'm going to struggle to keep a roof over my head for the rest of my life.

This economy, huh?

Right? I mean, isn't part of comfort being able to treat yourself now and then? If there's nothing leftover you're just surviving.

My knowledge and affinity for electronics now deemed 'retro'.

My ten year high school reunion is next month.

My ten year high school reunion was what made me finally delete Facebook. It was like "why am I getting notifications from these assholes", and one woman who said "WE NEED TO GO SOME PLACE GROWN UP BECAUSE WE ARE GROWN UP AND NOT KIDS" over and over.

I ended up blocking notifications from the reunion group ‘cause people kept badgering me to make a deposit to secure my spot at the reunion. It’s gonna be in the same spot as our prom was, everyone has to dress fancy, and the deposit’s a hundred bucks. Eff that.

I don't think my school is doing a ten year reunion. If they are, I really don't want to go. If I want to see people I can just look them up on facebook.

I’m definitely not going to mine. Thanks to social media, I already know all the drama surrounding my former classmates.

I wouldn't be caught dead at mine.

I graduated in 00 or 01, I forget. I am not sure my school even had a ten year? How do they find you if they did?

my manager announcing after 22 years with the company that he's taking a change of career direction to something else that can keep him closer to his wife and kids, and means he can get rid of the car and bring down expenses and such

coupled with the realisation that he's only six years older than me and i haven't even started bringing UP those expenses (i still can't drive, i'll never be able to afford a house, i don't want to get married, etc)

I am fat & have bits of my hair going white.

Paid taxes for the first time. Previously only had to file when I was a student and getting a refund. This time had to pay about 1600, which sucked.
