I also have no interest in robots, and I don't envision a future where realistically robots/AI programs would convince me they are "alive" in any way that has meaning or value that organic life has. I don't think I'd ever feel guilty about destroying or turning off (i.e. killing?) a robot/AI program, but I can't even slap mosquitoes. But fictional universes set their own rules. If they say the androids have souls and sentience, then I suppose they do. Still, those kinds of stories don't carry the same fascination to me that they apparently do to other audiences.

Also, I hate robot love interests. I just think about the sex and blergh.
