Re: What are the most and least popular pairings you ship?

(Anonymous) 2019-04-11 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
Most popular: Johnlock, Mulder/Scully

Least popular (in the sense that nobody cares): Maria / Georg Von Trapp

Least popular (in the sense of most hated): Starker (aka Tony/Peter)

I guess Scully/Mulder and Peter/Tony might be the least like each other? In a way? Maybe?

I mean, Mulder/Scully is a very even-keeled pairing. Staid, even. And it was 100% about two people who were equals in just about every way. Plus, it was het.

Whereas Peter/Tony is messy and manic and grasping and fun as fuck but also kind of dodgy. The very last thing I would describe it as is staid. They're also not...equals in any traditional sense, though I'd argue they balance each other in a strange, ethically dubious, haphazard way. If Mulder and Scully are two sides of a Rorschach test, precise, disciplined, meeting in the middle, Tony and Peter are two hectic spangly star shapes drawn one on top of the other, like a kid drawing a ten-pointed star.
