I don't think there's anything in the tweet that stipulates they have to shit their pants. They could drop their trousers first -- and wait, since traditional wizarding garbs don't even include trousers, that's not necessary either. Just hike up your robes and squat.

"Where they stand" is still ridiculous because privacy?? But nothing here necessitates soiling oneself, it's not like they didn't have motor functions.

No, privacy wasn't really a thing in or before the eighteenth century. Again, Horrible Histories has much to say on this, but looking into the history of Versailles, or I think Bill Bryson's "At Home", or any domestic history of the UK, will tell you perhaps more than you want to know.
