I didn't even really like Kaylee that much on a personal level (didn't relate to her much), but I completely agree with this secret, and I loved Kaylee as a character. I love that she was this soft, feminine character--who loved machines and was an excellent mechanic. And I love that she was a character who loved sex--but it wasn't treated like her personality. The narrative respected that a woman could really like sex, without that woman's whole manner of being becoming sexualized.

I sincerely appreciate Joss Whedon for very deliberately making a point of writing the character the way he did.

Yes...so rare to have a woman (smart, too) who loves sex (on TV yet) but isn't sexualized.

I love the party scene where she's wearing the frilliest, floofiest dress ever and is surrounded by men paying rapt attention to her pontificating about spaceship engines.
