Right? Like, even if you're not going to stand up to Luthor and let her out, why walk away completely? He wasn't making everyone leave, just not letting them let her out.

Unless there was some off screen implication that they tried to stay/come back and see her but he intervened thinking they would let her out?

I don't know, but it left a bad taste in my mouth.

Like anon below, it's just bad writing at that point. The whole family gets a vote was thrown out the window, and the only defense that I can think of is that like every other situation where someone disagrees with Luther, he'll use force to get what he wants. The way the rest siblings left the room was more resigned than anything, cause IMO their so used to Luther's shit that they know there's no winning that argument, no matter how much they disagreed.

It was a horrible moment.

I thought, though, that the whole family had been trained throughout their lives to not protest when the Head of the Family does something horrible. And Luther had been consciously putting himself in the role of Head of the Family, for better or (mostly) worse. Childhood training can be a bitch to kick when you're under stress.

It's...clunky writing. They couldn't do that cause Vanya has to be pushed to a breakdown.

Ten hundred percent agreed.

I was just agog that no one snuck back to let her out or talk to her. I mean - they'd ignored Luther before, why was he suddenly in charge and being obeyed when Vanya was *clearly* in distress?

Truly stupid, i hated that moment and that bit of plot SO MUCH.

I agree, I especially didn’t buy Klaus not sneaking back in since he was clearly sympathetic to her not understanding her powers - and I figured maybe Ben would have an opinion as well. And Luther was clearly distracted by Allison.

I just kept wondering why they didn't like use a notepad or something to communicate with Vanya. I mean Allison is already doing that anyway, it's not a farfetched thought. They could also like have at least left a note with her. But no, nothing, she must be left as miserable and confused as possible.
