Finn and Poe and Rey without Rose in sight, to be perfectly honest.

Rose was and is great

She was a character with potential that was under-utilised/wasted on cheap jokes and a shitty fragment of a pair-the-spares romance subplot with no build-up and no reason.

The casino planet material was very good and she was very good in it for reasons completely unrelated to any potential romance storyline

I can't tell if this is sarcasm. Even most of the people who liked the movie agree that the casino scenes were a waste of time for the most part.

They were good scenes in their own right. They had problems relating that stuff to the rest of the film, but I put the blame at that for the decision to have the weird slow-motion chase and all the pacing problems that caused, not the casino planet scenes themselves.

I think the casino scenes were just another example that Star Wars and subtlety don't work together.

I concur. She was my favourite part of that movie.

Sadly, I agree. I like Rose, but it's mostly for her unfulfilled potential than for what the movie actually did with her. The romance in particular was pretty crap.

Agreed. I wanted to like her so much. But the way she and the scenes she was in were written made it really difficult.

Yeah, Rose Tico deserved better. Those reasons are exactly why I did not like how she's written in that movie.

The teaser trailer released was so beautiful and I am so very hyped.

THE END OF THE SKYWALKER SAGA thank god.

I still think it's hilarious that the trailer makes it look like Kylo is just trying to... run Rey over with his the fighter. I mean, worth a try and brute force problem solving true to form, but ... what?

And I'm not convinced Palpatine isn't some kind of red-herring that won't be nearly as important as a lot of people expect him to be. Mostly because I don't really see how they'd make that connection with zero build-up throughout the other two movies.

I'm not getting my hopes up in general because I'm not sure the plot can still be salvaged after the last movie. But there were some things in the trailer that looked nice. (Also yay Lando!)
