Again, not comparable unless you're assuming that the child in question spends as much or more time with these two adults as they do their parents and was effectively 'raised' by the librarian and/or the neighbor.

AYRT - I have never seen a "childhood sweethearts" scenario where the children saw each other more often than friendly neighbours and classmates would, so I'm not sure that I'm the one having trouble with understanding the situation...

I'm thinking we must be on two different trains of thought here because I still can't figure out why you were making the comparisons you were making in relation to the secret posted.
