[The Dragon Prince]

Not related to the secret I finally figured out what bothers me about this art style

RWBY and Avatar the Last Airbender got together and had a child

(Anonymous) 2019-04-13 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
But what's wrong with either of those art styles?

AYRT

I don't like RWBY's, and as much as ATLA's was good in isolation, eventually things look very same-y

da

For me personally, both shows have bland character designs with even blander faces and expressions.

Disagree on Avatar's character design. The visual identity of each nation really stuck out to me and it was pretty good keeping its characters varied and distinct.

It looks Disneyish to me, and not in a good way.

I completely disagree with this opinion (viren fam forever), but I'm also just beyond excited to see a Dragon Prince secret. Thank you, OP! And I really hope you enjoyed the second season despite the increased screentime for these two! (Or at least it felt like they had more screentime this season? w/e)

Which characters are you more invested in?

OP

I did enjoy the second season. I even thought Claudia and Soren were a bit more tolerable than in the first. They had their moments, like near the end when the thing happened to Soren.

I'm actually a boring person who likes the main trio best. Rayla is my favorite (I hope in vain that she and Callum don't become canon in any way shape or form though, I love them as a platonic trio, don't want a "mom and dad with surrogate son," ugh). I also really like Amaya and Gren. And I'd really love to see more of the different types of elves.

No reason Claudia can't be both.

(Anonymous) 2019-04-13 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Respectfully disagree. I actually find Viren and his family to be a lot more interesting than the main protagonists.

Agreed, though Viren's obvious evil bugs me when he seemed set up to be more cunning than that. I haven't been able to bring myself to watch the second season because the protagonists are just...boring.

I love these two.

It's very, very similar to Storm Hawks was my first thought.
