Yeah. I’m 35 and have literally never had a social media account anywhere; everything I’ve ever posted has been anon, including fic. And I’m not even ashamed of any of it (okay, except that one where I borked the formatting so it posted as a wall of text.)

I realize I’m an extreme case, but people wanting exposure for their work turning around and going “wait no I take it back” doesn’t work in traditional publishing, and even if the tech exists, I don’t think people should be able to delete creative works from the internet unless they were uploaded against their wishes in the first place.

I think people should be able to delete their fics, posts, whatever, any time they want.

I'm just saying it's weird to ignore or resent the fact that deleting stuff doesn't mean it's gone. It's never gone. That's like Internet 101.
